Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what Coverage Lane LLC (“Coverage Lane,” “we”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and who we share it with. We are a licensed insurance referral service. We are not an insurance company and we do not issue policies.
The short version
- If you submit a quote form, we contact you about it, and we introduce you to one licensed insurance agency who can quote you.
- That agency pays us a referral fee. That is how this site makes money, and it never changes the premium you are quoted.
- We do not sell your information to lead exchanges, auction it to multiple buyers, or share it with anyone who is not the agency we matched you with.
- You can opt out of all contact at any time, and we will honor it.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code.
- Answers to the questions on the quote form for the coverage you asked about — for example your current insurer, the coverage amounts you want, your age range, the size of your business, or the trade you work in.
- A record of the consent you gave us, including the exact disclosure text shown to you, the date and time, your IP address, and your browser's user agent. We keep this because federal telemarketing law requires us to be able to prove what you agreed to.
Information collected automatically
- Pages you visited, the site or ad that referred you, and campaign parameters in the URL (such as
utm_sourceor a Google click ID). We use this to know which marketing works. - IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, and timestamps.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not ask for your Social Security number, driver's license number, bank or card details, medical records, or Medicare Beneficiary Identifier on this website. If any form here ever asks you for those, do not enter them and contact us — an agent may legitimately need some of that information later during a formal application, but never on this site.
How we use it
- To match you with a licensed agent in your state who handles the coverage you asked about.
- To contact you about your request, including by phone, text, and email, where you consented.
- To detect fraudulent and automated submissions.
- To measure which marketing channels produce real customers.
- To keep the consent and do-not-contact records the law requires us to keep.
Who we share it with
The agency we match you with. Your information is shared with one licensed insurance agency so they can quote you — never with several at once, and never with a lead exchange or bidding marketplace.
We are still selecting the agencies we work with in this area. Until that is settled, your information stays with Coverage Lane and is not shared with anyone outside the service providers described below. When we do begin making introductions, the agencies that may receive your information will be named in the consent text on the form itself, before you submit it — and if you submitted before they were named, we will not pass your details to them without asking you first.
Once an agency receives your information, their own privacy practices govern what they do with it.
Service providers. Companies that host this site, deliver our email, and store our data, acting on our instructions.
Legal. When we are required to by law, subpoena, or to defend a legal claim — including a claim brought against us about calls or texts, where the consent record is the evidence.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, post it to lead exchanges or ping trees, or share it with multiple competing buyers.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technology to keep the site working, remember your progress in a form, and measure advertising. If we run ads, our advertising partners may set cookies that let us measure conversions and show ads to people who visited but did not submit a form. You can control cookies through your browser settings; the site works without non-essential cookies.
Your choices and rights
Stopping contact. You can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling a caller to place you on their do-not-call list, emailing us at hello@coveragelane.com, or using our opt-out form. We treat a revocation as applying to all channels and all purposes, and we pass it to the agency you were matched with.
Access and deletion. Washington, Oregon, and several other states give residents the right to know what personal information we hold about them, to correct it, to request deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. To make any of these requests, email hello@coveragelane.com with the phone number or email you used. We will verify your identity and respond within the period the applicable law requires, generally 45 days.
One limit worth being straight about: if you ask us to delete everything, we will keep a minimal record of your phone number and your opt-out for suppression purposes. Deleting it entirely is what would allow someone to call you again by mistake, and keeping it is permitted for exactly that reason.
How long we keep it
Lead and consent records are retained for at least five years. That is deliberate: the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act has a four-year statute of limitations, so we keep consent records longer than the period during which a claim could be brought. Do-not-contact records are kept indefinitely.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls on our lead database, and keep the number of people with access small. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not tell you otherwise. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes to how we share your information will be posted prominently.
